Architecture Matters When Selecting a Web Solution
To perform well on the Web, an application must work in harmony with the infrastructure of the Web, not against it. It must tolerate low-bandwidth and high-latency connections, and it must support a large number of concurrent users.

To achieve maximum scalability and usability, Rainmaker Sales deploys entirely in the browser. At the beginning of a session, the browser downloads the user interface, the sales engine, and the product data set. No heavy server processing affecting performance. No need to wait for large data sets to download after each request. All processing occurs right inside the browser.

User Interface
Built-in HTML, a Rainmaker Sales user interface can be created and maintained using any Web authoring tool. An interface can be quickly and easily developed to match a Web site or an intranet, or customized to reflect the unique perspective of different markets. Multiple interfaces can be deployed for each application.

The components of the user interface are generated on the fly from the data set. Once users have experienced the speed and responsiveness of these dynamic client/side HTML components, they quickly lose patience with server-generated interfaces.

Sales Engine
Designed in small, modular files, the Rainmaker Sales engine also loads very quickly. In the browser, along with the user interface and the data set, it performs product validation and exception handling in sub-second time. Since all processing happens locally in the browser, users get instantaneous response time even if they are no longer connected to the Internet.

Because it includes no product rules, the Rainmaker Sales engine itself requires no custom coding.

Data Set
For optimal usability on the Web, a data set needs to download quickly and be easy to maintain. Storing all product data and rules in relational data tables, our data model can represent most products in less than 20K. Modularization of data by product line can help further reduce file size while facilitating phased implementation and team maintenance.

What’s more, our unique data model makes it very easy for the people in charge of the success of a particular product line to directly control all the changes to the data. All customization happens right inside the data module. The sales engine itself requires no custom coding.
